Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a small lump in the back of my throat, I can reach it and feel it with my finger, it s growing pretty quick, started about 4 weeks ago, it s now starting to feel like a skin tag, I smoke about 30 a day and have for a long time, is this harmful to me, what should I do?
Hello! thank you for your query! I understand your concern, the lump at the back of your throat may be a lymph node or mass/cyst which needs to be seen in an ultrasound or a biopsy to properly identify it. If it just a lymph node or an abscess, you just need an appropriate antibiotic however, if it is a mass or cyst, malignancy should be ruled out since you are a smoker, a mass in your throat is suspicious. I suggest you visit an EENT specialist for a more detailed clinical assessment and management. I hope this helps, a feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
